ADV Collections Business Leader Position Description Charismatic Senior Director responsible for growing the State and Local Collections business in the public sector market in the USA as well as globally. Candidate must have 10 years of public sector experience preferably in debt collections and using IT to transform public sector collections business processes. Team leadership, business process expertise, strong client skills, and experience with business development processes required.This position can be located in any major city in the United States and will require up to 80% travel. As an State and Local Business Leader with focus on our Collections group you will be responsible for the overall success of a portfolio of Collections projects, including time and resource management, financial planning, scope management, issue and risk management, and project execution. The Business Leader works with the Project Management to plan, direct, and monitor the work produced by the team(s), to include planning and implementing appropriate quality assurance activities. He or she is responsible for managing client relationships, including general, ongoing communications, identifying changes in scope and schedule changes, key risks, issue resolution, and ongoing progress reporting. He or she is responsible for the development and presentation of steering committee briefings to both client and internal executives and the development and facilitation of the key Transition Management deliverables across all levels of client management. The Business Leader must have a strong client facing presence. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, the Business Leader assists with business development efforts by providing the business capture teams with work plan review and input, staffing strategy, implementation methodologies, and participates in oral presentations for prospective clients. Securing add-on work is the responsibility of the Business Leader. The Business Leader must have a broad knowledge of industry best practices, embodied in PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and be able to proactively identify potential project risks in order to advise and consult with clients on risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies. He or she must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant State and Local Government project management experience, have managed scope of work including a minimum of $15+ million resources and managed $5+ million in implementation projects. Additional Qualities: Ability to recognize the client culture and effectively manage the project within that culture. Behave in an ethical and professional manner. Handle the pressures of simultaneous tasks, issues, problems, and ambiguity. Be flexible as to behavior or work methods in response to changes or new obstacles on a project.
