Combine the challenges offered by complex technical initiatives with the potential for international travel and gain experience and demonstrate your creativity.Basic Functions: The member would provide Local and Field IT Deskside Support Services for local IT infrastructure cover various client offices across Nova Scotia/New Brunswick (network devices, servers, workstations, cabling) as well as the customers’ supporting IT infrastructure (e.g., printers, scanners, application installs) and end-user environments (e.g., desktops, monitors, VoIP phones, DVTCs, KVM switches, etc.). Operations services include, analyzing and resolving common problems related to end-user equipment, network devices and servers. Maintenance services include, but are not limited to installing, adding, removing, or changing (IMAC) hardware; providing preventative maintenance to inspect, clean, and repair equipment before a mechanical failure occurs; responding to service requests for hardware related incidents; performing a technical diagnosis of equipment problems, including basic troubleshooting of networks using network management tools and network utilities; coordinating “in warranty” service for covered equipment; repairing or coordinating fix actions for “out of warranty” equipment; performing upgrade maintenance to improve or enhance operations of existing equipment; and maintain inventory. May be required to run cable (Ethernet, Telephone) if necessary to give a user a connection. Documenting of work is a requirement using the available helpdesk system used by the enterprise (ITSM). They also install, modify, clean, and repair computer hardware and software. Extensive driving is required for this role. Some overtime, weekend work and storm response coverage is required. The successful candidate will be required to wear proper safety equipment at all required client sites. Safety training and Cyper Security training is required and must be renewed each year. Essential Qualifications• Hardware certification (A+, Dell Tech, Network technology and cabling)• Hardware troubleshooting experience with Dell, HP, Panasonic, Motion tablets and PLC equipment• Experience with Server/Lan Adminstration • Experience with installation and termination of cables. • Advanced knowledge and hands-on technical experience with Windows and Unix Operating Systems, MS Office or Web applications.• Basic knowledge of handling smart phone technologies • Excellent Customer Service Skills, able to deal with all levels of staff and management in a professional manner. • Excellent communication skills in English, speaking and writing• Ability to think independently and make quick decisions that provide the right balance for the client and the customer.• Ability to work in an industrial environment and locations.• Ability to lift 50 lbs.Desired Qualifications• Experience with Helpdesk ticketing systems such as ITSM or ServiceOne.• Aptitude for PC application level support, migration and deployment activities. • Knowledge of data integration tools (ex: MS USMT, FTP applications)Professional Attributes• Results-oriented with a strong track record of successful delivery • Open to learning and developing technical skills.
