We have immediate opening (s) for qualified Fitter Welder with recent experience as follows. The opportunity is available with Integrated Marine Services, Inc. a ship repair company in Chula Vista, CA. The qualified applicant is currently working as a sheet metal shop fitter welder or has recent, relevant experience working in a sheet metal fabrication shop erecting the structural phase(s) of building furniture, dressers, cabinets, and counter-tops. The qualified applicant will have the ability to generate and work from shop sketches while coordinating his/her efforts with other journey level sheet metal benders and craftsman. Experience with custom, short run production projects a must. Also must be expert with stainless and aluminium mig, and tig weld processes in extremely thin walls including 3/16″, 1/8″ and 10 through 20 gage stainless and aluminium. SUMMARY Must have the ability to read and interpret general arrangement drawings and from them generate shop sketches that can be followed by other journey level craftsman in the fabrication of Military Standard furniture, dressers, cabinets and counter-tops. Then have the ability to build and weld assemble stainless steel and aluminium frame work.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Read and interpret NAVSEA Standard blueprintsGenerate working drawings and sketches to be used to build custom Military Standard furnitureMig & Tig thin wall stainless and aluminium sheet metalCoordinate with other Journey Level craftsman to fabricate furnitureAble to operate standard tools and equipment of the trade To be able to work on government vessels and to gain access to government facilities, all applicant must be able to pass successfully a background screening conducted by the federal government otherwise known as RapidGate background Check.
