LVN/LPT – Acute Psych/New Program We have on-call opportunties for the following 7AM – 3:30PM 3:00-11:30PM: 11:00PM – 7:30AM: The Telecare Riverside County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is an acute inpatient, 16-bed adult intensive treatment program. The program provides services to individuals experiencing severe psychiatric symptoms and can benefit from more structured services, supports and a secure setting. The PHF is designated by Riverside County Department of Mental Health (RCDMH) as a 5150 facility providing involuntary psychiatric care. On average, PHF clients stay for 5-7 days and will be serving ages 18+. The program is housed in the same building as the 12-chair Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). POSITION SUMMARY Provides services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by the physician; provides documentation to the Treatment Team of response to treatment and notifies all parties of clinical changes of condition; provides a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing an acute emergency related to a mental health disorder. QUALIFICATIONS One (1) year of experience in psychiatric nursing, one (1) year of acute experience is required; graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, current licensure by the State of California; sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues; demonstrated understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment, knowledge of psychotropic medications and knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the delivery of mental health services in the State of California. Must have valid CPR certification. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clients. Attends and participates in community meetings and groups. Coordinates and participates in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift. Completes the admission documentation including the problem list and the I.D. note. Transcribes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner. Administers medication and treatments to clients. Receives and presents change of shift report. Monitors the monthly recap of physician orders, medication record and treatment records. Reviews all medical and psychological reports. Informs the physician and nursing administrator of any abnormalities found in the client’s condition or laboratory reports. Job Location Indio, California, United States Position Type Part-Time
