To apply: Select Wisconsin on the map Scroll down to : Maintenance Mechanic, Beloit Apply POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager SUMMARY Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems, and production machinery; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of service work in one or more specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulics, carpentry, or machine servicing, ect. Provides direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists. Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service and repair work. Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operated a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations. Requisitions new supplies and equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Complies with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards. Perform other duties as required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of two year technical degree or state Journeyman’s license or apprenticeship program plus two years experience as a Maintenance Technician. Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs. Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., ect Must be able to work varying shifts, weekend and holidays as needed. May be required to use a variety of hand and power tools or forklift. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment. Candidates must be able to pass criminal background screen, pre-employment drug screen and physical. Must also be able to pass written mechanical aptitude test. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes. Ability to write business reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside officials to the company. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. TECHNICAL SKILLS Product and machinery specifications Computer data entry Quality standards — (e.g. ISO 9001/2000 and EMS 14001) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
