Non-Group Health Plan – Call Center Specialist – Bilingual (English/Spanish) Position Description CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI and an industry leader in providing overpayment recovery services to healthcare payers throughout the US, is conducting a recruitment campaign in San Antonio, TX. This position supports the recovery of Medicare funds for medical claims from No-Fault (NF) insurers and Workers’ Compensation (WC) entities when these Non-Group Health Plans (NGHP) report financial accountability ahead of Medicare. Our objective is to hire a Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) – Call Center Specialist who will be responsible for providing telephonic support to customers inquiring about an outstanding debt to Medicare. Additionally, there is significant interaction with insurance companies. To that end, the Non-Group Health Plan (NGHP) – Call Center Specialist will be responsible for the following: Your future duties and responsibilities • Under direct supervision, interfaces with insurance companies and workers’ compensation entities via telephone, written correspondence and fax, to respond to routine inquiries and resolve concerns. • Use analytical/critical thinking skills to determine the nature of phone calls, appeals, and correspondence by employers and Non-Group Health Plans, follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve call/case resolution. • Maintains complete accurate documentation of all customer interactions. • Researches case information by effectively using internal technical tools in response to inquiries including but not limited to, authorizations, payments and appeals. • Provide accurate and timely responses to queries • Escalate queries that are not routine or have special circumstances to supervisors in alignment with described processes. • Perform other duties as required. • Be available to work a standard shift between the hours of 7am CT – 7pm CT. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Skills, Education, and Experience required: To be considered for the role, applicants must have demonstrated successful performance involving the following traits: • High School Diploma or equivalent required, some undergraduate coursework preferred. • Call Center experience or equivalent experience in managing a high call volume within an office environment required. • Excellent customer service skills that incorporate courteous call etiquette and professionalism. • Knowledge of HIPAA practices and experience in handling PHI preferred. • Knowledge of Medicare Part A and Part B Appeal Experience preferred. • Experience working with Medical, No-Fault, and/or Workers Compensation claims. • Experience with Medicare, medical terminology/processes, and interpreting EOB’s preferred • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and adapt quickly to changes in processes and procedures • Ability to operate a computer and work with PC based software programs is required basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite of tools including MS Word and Outlook are required, MS Excel is desired. • Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven work environment, using multiple systems at a given time. • Demonstrates responsiveness and a sense of urgency when dealing with customers. • Time management skills and ability to adhere to a structured work schedule. • Willingness to work as an individual and as a team to achieve common goals • Strong verbal and written communication skills – Bilingual Spanish/English Required • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
