We are assisting a leading global renewable energy company find great candidates to join their growing team in the United States. We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager preferably with experience in the renewable energy industry for their Waverly, KS office. Oversees operations and maintenance activities of Company wind power generation facilities and leads daily ownership representation. Main Responsibilities: – Manages all operations and maintenance activities for balance-of-plant (BOP) assets within established operating guidelines for projects 100 – 400 megawatts in size – Oversees the designated facilities’ operations- and maintenance-related contracts and agreements for sites under warranty – Manages turbine operations and maintenance for sites off-warranty – Facilitates daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting in accordance with operational, safety, regulatory, and environmental performance requirements – Monitors each facility’s performance in terms of comparison with expected results and key performance indicators – Engages appropriate internal and external resources as performance issues may require – Represents the company locally before interconnection and customer entities – Represents the company in landowner and community relationships – Works closely with equipment suppliers and service entities as needed – Monitors generating equipment for proper function, service, and repairs – Identifies and engages contractors for facilities’ balance-of-plant maintenance – Ensures that on-site activities at each facility are conducted in a safety-conscious manner – Ensures that quality electronic communication is established and maintained at each facility, specifically between the turbines, substation, site office, and corporate office – Monitors new facility construction and commissioning activities, and interfaces with the company’s Development and Construction personnel as needed, to ensure adherence to best practices and delivery of the optimal product – Interfaces with Engineering, Accounting, and Development staff and other individuals, both internal and external, as needed – Maximizes performance and ensures value retention for each facility – Monitors contractor performance and ensures quality and adherence to the highest standards in work practices – Conducts and reports on periodic meetings with contractors and partners – Ensures reliability of the Bulk Electric System – Ensures compliance with site environmental regulations pertaining to hazardous waste, oil spill prevention, avian studies, and wildlife conservation – Additional duties as required Resources Management Info: People: 1 – 3 direct reports Expenses: Annual operating budgets of USD $5 million – 20 million Requirements – Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred – Professional Experience: 5 – 7 years relevant experience, preferably in wind energy – Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database applications – Other: – Strong interpersonal skills – Strong written and oral communications skills – Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage personnel – High attention to detail
