Our Downtown Houston Client is seeking a REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL. Assists legal counsel with matters relating to the company’s acquisition and maintenance of real property interests. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Completes form real estate documents, including options, option memoranda, purchase and sale agreements, leases, lease memoranda, easements, easement memoranda, assignments, notices of exercise, escrow letters, and subordination agreements and other real estate documentsCoordinates with landowners and other parties for the execution of real estate documents via telephone and written correspondenceCoordinates and performs real estate due diligence of purchase and sale, mergers and finance transactions by preparing checklists, timelines, issues list and document schedulesReviews title reports, identifies issues and prepares title schedulesAssists the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, and other department Attorneys with satisfying title requirementsCoordinates with title companies to obtain title reports and title documents in accordance with project time schedules;Reviews and comments on land survey and site plansAssists in the preparation of proforma title policiesReminds the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, and Real Estate Attorney of key dates and timelinesAssists with document compliance and preparing document summariesAssists with approving real estate documents for execution and paymentAssists in preparing form documents for the development, construction and operation of projectsAssists with maintenance of Company documentsAnswers questions on routine document requirements of the CompanyAdditional duties as required RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PEOPLE: 0 direct reports EXPENSES: 0 REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a related field REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 4+ years in the corporate/finance area of a law firm or in-house legal services in a corporate environment. Must have real estate experience REQUIRED LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Paralegal certificate preferred REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Excel OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to manage priorities and multi-task Ability to manage large number of landowners and parcels Flexibility for adapting to changing organizational needs Sound judgment and discretion Strong work ethic Strong analytical and organizational skills High attention to detail Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to be self-motivated
