Temporary Visa Clerk Position Description The Clerk works in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Visa Office, Office of Public and Diplomatic Liaison, Diplomatic Liaison Division/Visa Revalidation Services, U.S. Department of State. Analyst is responsible for processing, printing, and forwarding reissued visas, as well as performing other related tasks. Your future duties and responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: -Clerk is responsible for processing, printing, and forwarding reissued visas, as well as performing other related tasks • Performs quality control tests on new visas.• Processes all official visas (A’s, G’s and NATO’s)• Runs the Diplomatic Reception desk were visa applications are picked up and dropped off by foreign embassies and international organizations.• Communicates with foreign embassies and international organizations via telephone and e-mail pertaining to visa cases and policies Required qualifications to be successful in this role Required Knowledge and Abilities: • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.•Successful completion of a CGI Background investigation; including criminal, education, employment, credit and driving record checks.•An INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; and thereafter a SECRET security clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment.•Positive attitude and self motivated.•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.•Ability to prioritize and organize workload.•Learns and recalls information about visa application procedures and the laws and regulations pertaining to visa requirements.•Maintains composure and objectivity in stressful situations and in dealing with multiple inquiries and varying management styles.•Effectively communicates with a wide variety of people.
