Job Description:

Writer/Editor Position Description The Writer/Editor will operate in a leadership role, responsible for developing, writing, and reviewing high-quality winning proposals and other government requests for information. The Writer/Editor participates on capture teams that pursue strategic federal opportunities, working with teaming partners and internal departments such as human resources, pricing, and contracts to develop and submit compliant, compelling, and responsive proposal content. The Writer/Editor provides strategic messaging and tailoring of proposal content and contributes to the strategy, coordination, and/or editing of Management, Technical, Past Performance, and other volumes as appropriate. In addition, the Writer/Editor provides research, writing, and editing support for other government requests for information. The individual is required to have both broad and specific knowledge across business, financial, contractual, personnel, project, proposal management, and document development domains to successfully create high-quality written products. This position works autonomously and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your future duties and responsibilities Principle duties and responsibilities: Proposal, Research, and Writing activities to include: • Interpretation of solicitation requirements or source selection regulations and approach on individual opportunities • Matrixed team management and facilitation • Win theme development • RFP decomposition • Schedule development • Storyboard/template development • Formal kickoff meetings • Author training and working sessions to include content refinement, ensuring compliance and alignment with proposal themes and messaging • Formal and informal proposal reviews • Post-submission support [e.g., clarifications/BAFOs, and final proposal revisions (FPRs)] • Conducting lessons learned to include Government debrief analyses • Serve as volume lead; develop and edit proposal content • Operational staff management, including scoping and monitoring proposal efforts, setting priorities, and aligning resources• Edit written products for clarity, messaging, readability, ease of comprehension, and consistency of voice • Proofread written products for spelling, usage, typographical, and grammatical errors Required qualifications to be successful in this role REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: Preferred experience in proposal management, proposal coordination, book boss, volume lead, proposal development, and/or writing/editing roles. • Excellent writing and editing skills • Attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills • Ability to work under pressure and beyond standard hours during busy periods to meet deadlines • Ability to comfortably and professionally interact with individuals at all levels of the organization • Experience managing/supporting complex, IT-based proposals • Diversity of experience in large corporate organizations and small business concerns • Bachelor’s degree required • Industry-wide best practices in proposal management • Technical Writing • Volume lead • Editorial practice and standards • Broad and specific range of Federal, State, and local government procurement regulations and practices (including FAR and DFAR) • Project management• Business, marketing, technical, and expository writing At CGI, we’re a team of builders.
